Role Overview

We’re seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer who’s excited to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of our cutting-edge Data Highway product. You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams in Pune to test complex data pipelines, distributed systems, and real-time processing modules. This full-time role, based in our Pune office, offers an immediate start and a salary range of ₹8,00,000 to ₹15,00,000 per annum, depending on experience. Whether you’re debugging a tricky issue or optimizing system performance, your work will be critical to delivering a robust, scalable platform.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical and functional specifications to craft comprehensive test strategies for the Data Highway product.
  • Develop detailed test plans, cases, and scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing.
  • Define testing criteria and acceptance standards for data pipelines, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Execute manual and automated tests for data ingestion, processing, and output modules.
  • Perform end-to-end testing to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and scalability.
  • Validate real-time and batch data processing flows for performance and reliability.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA, providing clear, actionable feedback for developers.
  • Collaborate with development teams to debug issues, verify fixes, and prevent regressions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to uncover underlying issues and suggest process improvements.
  • Perform performance testing to evaluate system behavior under peak load conditions.
  • Monitor metrics like throughput, latency, and resource utilization to identify bottlenecks.
  • Test APIs for functionality, reliability, and adherence to RESTful principles.
  • Validate integrations with external systems and third-party services for seamless data flow.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies—sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Provide regular updates on test progress, coverage, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing automated test frameworks.
  • Validate data transformations, mappings, and consistency across pipelines.
  • Ensure data security in transit and at rest, testing for vulnerabilities and compliance.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for test plans, cases, and defect reports.
  • Contribute to user guides and knowledge bases to support product usage.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, ideally in data pipelines, distributed systems, or SaaS products.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and distributed systems testing.
  • Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
  • Familiarity with SQL and database testing for data validation.
  • Experience with test management and defect-tracking tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with real-time data processing systems like Kafka.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Exposure to automation frameworks and scripting languages like Python or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of Selenium for UI testing.
